Is it for Gay people only?
We are a gay site. We only ask your gender when you join, not your sexuality. It is assumed to be gay, bisexual, lesbian, transgender or metrosexual by just being on the site. Anyone can join, but remember we are creating a gay social network free from the restriction often felt in a workplace, from family members and other institutions. Although gays are more accepted in society, not everything is accepted or understood; and some things we simply want to ‘keep in the family’. This is a place where YOU can be YOU.
What is the minimum age?
The minimum age is 18.
We will NOT ask you for your birthday...that is private to you...however by signing up you affirm you are 18 +.

Is Adult content allowed?
Yes, anything suitable for an 18 year old and above is allowed. Images or videos depicting sex or nudity will have to be marked PRIVATE for your ‘friends’ eyes only. Please respect this.

What don't you allow?
We do NOT allow ‘hate’ against any group. No ‘isms’, ‘phobics’ or ‘philia’...if you get our meaning. Any expression of hate, including cyber bullying and cyber-stalking will be reported to the appropriate authority, along with ANY evidence that is provided. Keep that behaviour off our site and at home if you must!
We don’t mind you being sexy, but pornographic needs to be set to ‘private’. Your profile can be anything you want it to be...as long as it is you. Part of that is signing up with emails that work, which will be randomly tested, and if they are not legitimate the profile will be deleted. We follow the security of most social networks. You will not be spied on...but there is an option to report something that may be considered a violation of our terms or fits into any of the categories mentioned.
You can be you, as long as it is YOU! Using other people’s images to misrepresent yourself will be treated as fraudulent behaviour...and please be respectful of copyright.

There is plenty of functionality and ways of putting yourself out there. We encourage people to explore and use what they like and leave out what they don’t.

What are TAGS?
Tags are keywords separated by commas that describe an image, a person, a post. They can be any descriptive word, name or text that relates to what you are tagging. Tagging someone’s name or user name will not add that post to their wall. On MyGayFace.com we use tags to search. Let’s say you want to find all content that is tagged with your name. Go to >TAGS >SEARCH. Then type a ‘keyword’ such as your name. All the results that contain that key word will show divided by content such as profiles, videos, photos, music. Just click on a content label to view what has been tagged with that keyword.
How do I set my AVATAR pic?
After uploading one or several pics, click on the man’s head which is second from the left (next to the home icon. From there select ‘Avatar’. You will be given the option to upload a new one or select from the pre-designed ones by clicking on the green tick below your selection.
If you upload you will be asked to ‘crop’ your pic so it displays correctly.
To upload Click on Browse and select an image. It will auto Upload (this might take a few seconds). Crop your pic so it displays correctly. Just click over the dotted lines and move them, it will maintain a ‘square’ aspect ratio. When you are happy CLICK on Add Avatar button. It will automatically add to your Avatar files, the selected one is noted by a green tick.

Where are my email notifications?
Please check your junk mail. They could be there. You need to mark admin@mygayface.com as safe or the url mygayface.com.
Where are my PRIVACY settings?
Your privacy settings can be found under the DASHBOARD icon (a half black semi circle usually third along after the home icon). There you can set your privacy settings for most of the features on MGF.
How do I add VIDEOS?
First go to VIDEOS.
Click on the link. You can create a new album (a collection of videos) or clcik on MY ALBUMS which will take you to the default VIDEO ALBUM for your profile. Click on the link that will have your USER NAME and ALBUM. .
This opens a video page. Since we are adding videos, see the link ADD VIDEOS, click on that. .
When the page opens in the right hand upper corner you will see CHOOSE UPLOADER with the Flash selection. Click on the arrow to see the other choices. .
Flash: will upload your videos, several at a time. Just click on the 'select file' button. This will open up in your computer where you need to find the video you want to upload. Notice the restriction limit. .
Regular: choosing this, it will open a familiar upload panel. Click on Browse to find the video you want to upload. .
Record: This will connect to your video camera if you have one connected. Give it a go! .
Embed: YouTube embedding is different than if you are sticking it in a webpage. You need the 'link' that you would normally stick in an email to share a video...this will look something like this 'http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KhbXF3APjeU'. Just copy and paste that link into form and then click on continue. This is the best way to add large files, that is to upload them to a YouTube account then embed them into your page in this way. .
If you have set up a GROUP these options are not available, the only way to add video to a group is to upload it.
